Voting Instructions

Election Day is May 19th.

For those voting in person OR voting by mail-in ballot:

Register to vote. The deadline was May 4th.
Check Your Registration Status and get directions to your polling location.

1) Request a mail-in ballot online NOW or print this pdf.
    The deadline for the elections office to receive the request is May 12th.
2) Track your ballot.

If you are voting in person:

3) Bring the mail-in ballot AND envelopes with you to the polling location. You will surrender those     to the Judge of Election and then vote normally.

If you are NOT voting in person:

3) Bring the mail-in ballot to a drop box. No postage required. Avoid using the Post Office.

If you have to use the Post Office, Postmarks DO NOT APPLY.
Mail goes out to Lehigh for sorting, so plan on at least ten business days for your ballot to be delivered to the elections office.
The elections office must receive your completed ballot by 8:00 PM May 19th.
You must track your ballot.

Explanations for these instructions:

Reasons why you should request a mail-in ballot even if you plan to vote in person:

1) Due to an unforeseen event, you are unable to vote in person and you have no time to request     a mail-in ballot.
2) You arrive to vote an you're informed you already voted (yes, it has happened).
3) If something prevents you from voting in person as planned, you may have time to fill out your     ballot and get it to a drop-box.
4) To ensure you can vote.

About the U.S. Mail (and why to avoid it):

1) Postmarks do not apply.
2) If you mail your ballot, it will travel to Lehigh first for sorting. You should allow at least ten     business days for it to reach the elections office.
3) Mail from the elections office may get lost on the way to your address.
4) Your ballot may be lost on the way to the elections office.
5) A Democrat postal worker may 'lose' your ballot if they suspect you're not a Democrat.
6) Avoid the mail and use a drop-box.
